San Diego 

The quintessential Southern California city, San Diego can’t help but put you in mind of palm trees, surf boards and sandy ocean beaches.  As you would imagine of an area that hardly goes a day without sunshine, outdoor activities rule the day.  Hang gliding, golf, biking and all things beach are yours for the taking.  The city itself offers Old Town and the Gaslamp Quarter, where some of California’s best dining and entertainment can be found.

Hillcrest is the area’s gay Mecca with shops, coffee places and of course, Hamburger Mary’s.  A big, gay tour up University Avenue will bring you to bars like The Flame, Flicks and Kickers.  Nightclubs include Bacchus House and Rich’s.  Let’s face it, you can throw a stick down University and hit a place where hot go-go boys are dancing the night away.

San Diego also offers its cultural center, Balboa Park and the world-renowned San Diego Zoo.  There is much to do in the city where the weather is always fair.  Just bring a jacket for cool nights, and maybe some cab fair for a quick escape to Tijuana.  Everything is cheaper across the border… even the antibiotics.
