Dallas
Hold on to your clip-ons, Sue Ellen. You’re in for a hell of a ride… especially if gay cowboys are your thing. This one-time frontier town turned metropolis boasts affluence, rugged individualism and perhaps more than anything else, size. That got your attention didn’t it? It’s true what they say; everything really is bigger in Texas.
Still, before you strap on your boots and head out kick up some dust to Achy Breaky Heart, there are some real finds in Dallas. Fair Park is home to the Cotton Bowl and was once the site of a World’s Fair. The park holds nine museums, six performance venues and exposition architecture. Not far away in Parker, Texas is the home of Southfork. The working ranch was setting for the legendary television series, Dallas. Guided tours are available at Southfork, as is a gift shop with TV memorabilia. If you listen carefully, you can still hear the ice clinking in Sue Ellen’s rock glass.
If you are looking for some gay nightlife fun, check out The Brick and Joe’s Dallas on Maple Avenue. Other fun places include Station 4 and the Round-Up Saloon. Do you have a better review? Submit it here.
